EQUSaT Officially Admits New Students for the 2024 Academic Year

Equator University of Science and Technology (EQUSaT) continues to play a significant role in shaping Uganda’s higher education landscape.
On November 12, 2024, the university’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Muhamad Mpezamihigo, joined a delegation from the Uganda Vice Chancellors Forum (UVCF) in a strategic meeting with the Rt Hon Thomas Tayebwa, Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Uganda.
The meeting was aimed at addressing key issues affecting higher education and foster collaborative policies for sustainable academic growth in the country. The delegation engaged the Deputy Speaker on amendments to the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity and stakeholder engagement in shaping educational reforms.
Representing the UVCF, Executive Director Prof. Eliab Lugujjo appealed to the Deputy Speaker to mainstream the UVCF as a critical stakeholder in higher education. He highlighted the forum’s role as an advocacy platform for private and public universities, noting that such recognition would enhance its capacity to contribute meaningfully to policy formulation and implementation.
Prof. Muhamad Mpezamihigo, a respected voice in Uganda’s academic circles, reiterated EQUSaT’s commitment to fostering quality education and contributing to national development through effective partnerships.
The meeting marked a significant milestone in efforts to harmonize the roles of educational institutions and the government in driving academic excellence.
