Dr. Yasser Khater Highlights the Role of Mindful Eating in Healthy Living at EQUSaT

Dr. Yasser Khater has led a discussion on the importance of mindful eating and the role of food in human health and wellbeing during the Youth Empowerment Program 2026 hosted by the Equator University of Science and Technology (EQUSaT) in partnership with Helping Hands for Relief and Development.

Presenting under the topic “Mindful Eating: The Role of Food in Our Body and Wellbeing,” Dr. Khater explored the relationship between food choices, the body's needs and overall health, encouraging young people to pay greater attention to what they eat and how their dietary choices influence their wellbeing.

The session formed part of the programme's broader theme, “One’s Healthy: Minding the Food We Take and Caring for Our Bodies as a Strategy for a Long, Healthier and Happy Life.”

The discussion emphasised the importance of making informed food choices as part of a healthy lifestyle, highlighting how everyday eating habits can contribute to long-term wellbeing.

By hosting the programme, EQUSaT continues to provide a platform for youth engagement, personal development and conversations that connect health awareness with everyday life. The initiative reflects the importance of empowering young people with practical knowledge to make informed decisions about their health and future.

Through its engagement with Helping Hands for Relief and Development, EQUSaT reinforces the value of partnerships in promoting youth empowerment and wellbeing, in line with Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
